Marc Staal Quotebook

“ It was not the start to the season I would have wanted, and it was pretty hard for a lot of (the season), but at the end of the year and in the playoffs i felt a lot better and was happy with the way I was playing. ”
- Marc Staal
“ Last summer was pretty tough and I really didn't train that much, was pretty much up and down with the way everything was going. It's going to be good to kind of hit the re-set button and have a normal summer of training and getting geared up for next season. ”
- Marc Staal
“ We made a good run, and we are confident with the group we have in here. I think we have been together for a long time and hopefully that continues. I think we have a lot of the pieces already in the room, and I think we showed that all year. ”
- Marc Staal

After missing all of training camp and the first 36 games of the regular season due to a concussion, Rangers defenseman Marc Staal was able to play in 66 consecutive games---the final 46 of the regular season and all 20 in the playoffs. There were definite ups and downs as Staal tried to work his way back joining a first-place team that was already in full stride of its season.

Staal's game finally started to peak in the post-season, so even though the Rangers did not quite reach the Stanley Cup Finals this spring, the team's assistant captain was left invigorated for his summer workouts and the 2012-13 season ahead.
