Rangers Discuss The End

“ It really is shocking, and it is so disappointing. It was just a big scramble and a weird bounce. It's just a terrible feeling. All the work you put in the last couple months---really the last eight months even---to get here, it hurts. ”
- Henrik Lundqvist
“ We battled all year. We had a good year. We battled back in this game, force overtime, have some chances, then just like that you're done. It's a tough pill to swallow. ”
- Ryan Callahan
“ We couldn't close it out. We just couldn't find a way to get that lead goal. The effort was really good, and the leaders in the locker room were taking charge. We had great positive energy. It's tough to lose that way. ”
- Ryan McDonagh
“ It's a gross feeling in your stomach. Knocked out of the playoffs, it sucks, especially the way we got to this point." ”
- Marc Staal

A magicial 51-win, 109-point regular season, and a thrilling ride through the playoffs---complete with two Game 7 victories, came to an abrupt end for the Rangers Friday night at The Prudential Center when Adam Henrique scored 1:03 into overtime to close out the Eastern Conference Finals in six games.

After the game BlueshirtsUnited.com caught up with Henrik Lundqvist---who made 26 saves in defeat Friday, team captain Ryan Callahan---brilliant again with a goal, four shots, and tenacity in spades, Ryan McDonagh---warior-like with two assists and great defensive play over a game-high 28:23, and alternate captain Marc Staal in a somber Rangers locker room to discuss the end to the team's truly amazing season.
