Game Six Chatter

“ I'm just happy that we played a really good game when all the pressure was on. In tight games we need the power play, and the power play stepped up tonight. It was big for us. And we stayed confident, even after the first (period). We played really well and deserved it (the win). ”
- Henrik Lundqvist
“ I got a little bit of a monkey off of my back. It's tough when you're gripping the stick and having a tough time scoring. It's definitely a big relief finding the back of the net, and not only that, but our power play gets a lift from it, too. ”
- Derek Stepan
“ The way these guys are, how close they are in the dressing room, it's hard not to fall in love with this group just the way they work and stand up for each other. It stems from the leadership group, and it's why we stayed calm and collected. ”
- Chris Kreider

Monday's season-saving 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators in Game Six was chock-full of clutch performances by the New York Rangers. Right near the top was Henrik Lundqvist---who made 25 saves, including a string of crucial ones late in the final period, Derek Stepan---who recorded a three-point night, and Chris Kreider---whose first NHL late in the second period proved to be the game-winner.
