"He Jumped Right In"

“ I think playing big games in college helped me for playing in big games at the NHL level, games like the Winter Classic or now the playoffs. And I am pretty calm, pretty relaxed, which I think helps me, too. I don't get too overexcited. ”
- Carl Hagelin
“ For his first playoff game I'm sure he was nervous before the game, but you couldn't see it on the ice. He was on the puck constantly, made the whole play on (Brad Richards') goal, and just needs to keep it going moving forward. ”
- Marian Gaborik
“ He has handled everything well. That was his first playoff game ever, was in the starting lineup at MSG, and first shift he was in there digging and fighting. He jumped right in and wasn't just feeling it out. It was a great experience for him last night. ”
- Brad Richards

The day after making his NHL playoff debut in the Rangers 4-2 Game One Victory on Thursday, Carl Hagelin had to work his way through a thick crowd of reporters at his locker following practice Friday afternoon. A standout debut had made the 23 year-old rookie a sought-after quote.

However in typical low-key fashion, Hagelin---who assisted on a Brad Richards goal, fired three shots on net, blocked two shots, and was credited with two hits over 13:51 worth of ice-time Thursday---preferred to speak about the team more so than himself.

BlueshirtsUnited.com caught up with Hagelin's veteran linemates, Marian Gaborik and Richards, to get the word on the rookie's strong post-season debut.

See what Hagelin, Gaborik, and Richards had to say Friday, then share your comments on the rookie below.
