Coming off impressive wins against three of the top teams in the East---the Capitals, Flyers, and Penguins---the Rangers (13-5-3, 29 pts) skate against the Carolina Hurricanes (8-14-4, 20 pts) down in Raleigh Thursday night. In their last 12 games---of which they have won 10---the Rangers have surrendered more than two goals only four times, winning three of those four anyway. The Rangers enter play Thursday with the second lowest GAA in the NHL (2.10). Carolina, with Kirk Muller behind the bench for only his second game since replacing Paul Maurice as coach, are 0-3-1 their last four games, having scored just five goals in that span.
