Martin Biron earned his seventh win in eight starts this season, and the Rangers won for the third consecutive game, defeating the Islanders 4-2 Thursday night at The Garden. Biron, who now owns a 21-4-1 lifetime record against the Islanders, stopped 24 of 26 shots. He was beaten by a pair of power play goals scored by PA Parenteau, in the second period, and Matt Moulson, in the third. Brandon Dubinsky opened the scoring 14:53 into the first period, beating Evgeni Nabokov with a wrist shot from the right circle, a goal that was assisted on by Biron and rookie Stu Bickel. The goal was Dubinsky's first in 17 games, and second of the season. Marian Gaborik (his 20th) and Michael Del Zotto (his 4th) scored second-period goals for the Blueshirts, before Moulson pulled the Isles within one 8:29 into the final stanza. With his goal, Gaborik has now reached the 20-goal plateau eight times in his 11-year NHL career. John Mitchell iced the victory with an empty-net goal late in the third period, while Anton Stralman contributed a pair of assists to the scoresheet. Share your thoughts on Thursday's game below.
