Rangers 4 - Devils 1

Henrik Lundqvist was the backbone for the Rangers once again when his team needed him to be Tuesday night in Newark, and as a result the Rangers settled their game down after being outplayed in the first period and rallied for a resounding 4-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center. Outshot 12-4 in the opening period, but only outscored 1-0 thanks to Lundqvist, the Rangers found iron three times in the second period behind Martin Brodeur before Artem Anisimov's redirection at 17:28 finally hit the back of the net to the game 1-1. Then in the third period, Marian Gaborik converted a rebound of Anisimov's shot at 4:45, and the Blueshirts never looked back. Lundqvist would finish with 30 saves, while Carl Hagelin added a backbreaking shorthanded goal off a 2-on-1 rush with 5:18 left to play in the third period, and Gaborik iced things with an empty-net goal in the final seconds. Playing without four of their six regular defensemen, the Rangers saw Dan Girardi log 29:09, and Ryan McDonagh 28:22, worth of ice-time, while rookies Stu Bickel and Tim Erixon played admirably on the thrid pairing. Bickel even earned an assist on Hagelin's goal, giving him his first career point in his NHL debut. Derek Stepan picked up three assists for the Blueshirts, while Gaborik (2-0-2) and Anisimov (1-1-2) both finished with two points. Share your thoughts on the game below.
