In John Tortorella's mind, Thursday's 4-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues was easy to explain. "This was a game where it's in the trenches and it's about the battles," the Rangers head coach said following the game. "And they beat us. It was fed to us tonight. They beat us at that game. It was a game of battles because that's how St. Louis plays. It was a test for us, and we're usually good in these games, but tonight we weren't good. Tonight they were the better team." Following two straight losses, the Rangers will next practice in St. Louis Friday morning before traveling to Phoenix where they will square off with the Coyotes on Saturday night.
