Mike Rupp was fairly exhausted following a long on-ice "bag-skating" session conducted by assistant coach Mike Sullivan following Thursday's morning skate at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, but the veteran forward was also feeling really good about how his knee held up during the skate. "Today was really good, was able to push it really hard today, so that was a good sign," explained Rupp, who underwent knee surgery in early November. "Right now it's just a matter of getting it ready for the next time I skate, which is tomorrow. I have had two good days of it responding well after hard skates, so as long as it keeps responding like that I should be good to go here soon." When asked if he might be able to play Saturday when the Rangers skate in Phoenix against the Coyotes, Rupp said, "I don't see why it wouldn't be a possibility. I am not definitely set on that yet because things can happen, but at least there is a light right now and it's looking like Saturday or Tuesday, I am hoping."
