Rangers-Stars Preview

Tonight at The Garden, the Rangers (17-6-4, 38 pts) will look to win their third straight game as they host the Dallas Stars (16-11-1, 33 pts). The Rangers enter play sitting in fourth place in the competitive Eastern Conference, coming off a strong weekend in which they beat the Sabres 4-1 in Buffalo Saturday and the Panthers 6-1 at The Garden on Sunday. The red-hot Blueshirts have earned at least one point in 16 of their last 19 matches, posting a 14-3-2 mark in that span. Dallas comes in leading the Pacific Division, and sitting in third place in the Western Conference. Despite this early-season success, the Stars have surrendered more goals (78) than they have scored (73)---a stark contrast to the Rangers who have a +23 goal differential (83-60). Tonight's game will mark Dallas' first visit to The Garden in nearly two years. In their last vit to New York on January 6, 2010, Dallas dropped a 5-2 decision to the Blueshirts. This evening's contest will also mark Brad Richards' first game against his previous club since he signed with the Rangers as a free agent last July 2nd. Richards enters play tied with Marian Gaborik for the team lead in points with 25. Share your predictions on tonight's game below.
