Rangers head coach John Tortorella said on Saturday that he wished to carry 13 forwards on the roster and that Sean Avery and Erik Christensen were to battle for that 13th and final spot. On Monday, Tortorella explained why he decided to play Christensen the past two pre-season games in Europe and not Avery. "I wanted to see Erik play more," said Tortorella. "I know what Sean is and what type of player he is, but I wanted to see Erik in different situations. I played (Erik) on the wing (Monday) and I played him at center. He's won a lot of games with us the past couple years with the shootout. We'll make our decision heading into the opener." Share your thoughts on the final training camp battle below.
