The Rangers let a late third period lead slip away Thursday night at The Garden, and eventually dropped a 3-2 decision to the Tampa Bay Lightning in a game decided by the shootout. Tampa, which had lost its previous five games entering play Thursday and was playing without sniper Martin St. Louis, who was injured in the morning skate---tied the game at 2-2 on a shorthanded goal scored by former Ranger Dominic Moore with 1:57 remaining in the third period. Moore then scored the only goal of the shootout, beating Henrik Lundqvist---who made 29 saves through 65 minutes of play---with a strong forehand shot in the second round. Lightning goalie Mathieu Garon---who finished with 28 saves---denied John Mitchell, Brad Richards, and Marian Gaborik in the shootout. Ryan Callahan (on the power play 7:49 into the first period) and Artem Anisimov (his 5th, shorthanded, 13:23 into the second) scored for the Rangers. Anisimov's celebration following his goal set off a wild melee, leading to 38 minutes in penalties for both teams. Share your thoughts on the game below.
