On Sept. 30, 2011, Henrik Lundqvist returned to Gothenburg, Sweden, for an emotional preseason game that set the tone for the best season of his NHL career to date. Lundqvist went on to win 39 regular-season games and 10 postseason games in 2011-12 and wasa finalist for multiple NHL Awards. It was a landmark season for the All-Star goaltender whose force of will played a big role in getting the Rangers to No. 1 in the Eastern Conference for the first time in 18 years.
