In case you've never seen him before, the player pictured above is Everett Silvertips defenseman Ryan Murray at the recent NHL Combine. Murray just might be the first defenseman selected on Friday night when the NHL Entry Draft gets under way in Pittsburgh. While he won't be on the board when the Rangers pick, a number of other intriguing defensemen will be, because this year's draft class has some very strong blueliners in it, including a couple who could be ready to play in the NHL next season. Among the defensemen on the board is Livingston, N.J., native Nick Ebert, who moved north to play in the Ontario Hockey League after dominating the Essex County high school scene.
