Staal's Top 5

From June 4-20, is counting down some of the most memorable moments for several Rangers players in 2011-12. We continue today with a look back at defenseman Marc Staal's down-and-up season that saw him miss the first 36 games with post-concussion symptoms before returning to the lineup for good at the NHL Winter Classic. Once he got back, Staal progressively improved to the point where he was back in All-Star form when the playoffs arrived.

No. 5 -- Feb. 16 vs. Chicago at MSG

Staal scores his first goal of the season in Original Six game at home.

No. 4 -- April 23 at Ottawa (Round 1, Game 6)

Staal assists on Kreider's Game 6 winner that helped keep season alive.

No. 3 -- Jan. 2 at Philadelphia (Winter Classic)

Staal completes comeback from concussion with 2011-12 debut.

No. 2 -- April 26 vs. Sens at MSG (Round 1, Game 7)

Staal breaks through for first goal of Game 7 at 4:46 of second period.

No. 1 -- May 7 vs. Caps at MSG (Round 2, Game 5)

Staal burns Capitals by scoring 95 seconds into overtime for Game 5 victory.
