The Rangers snapped a 1-1 tie, and blew the game open, by scoring three times in a span of three minutes midway through the third period en-route to a 5-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes Friday night at The Garden. Dan Girardi potted a power play goal at 10:47---off a no-look feed from Brad Richards---to put New York ahead 2-1, and nine seconds later Brandon Dubinsky charged the crease to convert a rebound of Ryan Callahan's shot for his first goal of the season. Then at 13:47 Callahan poked a loose puck over the goal line to give the Blueshirts a three-goal lead. Richards netted the final goal with 1:34 to play, while Sean Avery opened the scoring with his first of the season 9:43 into the game for the Rangers, who have now won six straight games.
