Big Game Brad's Hat

Brad Richards wa son the puck all night long in the Rangers 2-1 Game 7 victory over the Capitals Saturday night at The Garden. And if he wasn't scoring a bi ggoal or making a big offensive play, he was diving after pucks, blocking shots, and backchecking with a fervor.

As a result Richards earned himself the Broadway Hat after the Rangers eliminated the Capitals in a thriller Saturday night.

"We've played them all year, we've been in tight games," Richards explained of yet another one-goal decision on Saturday. "We haven't done a lot of blowing out teams, that type of stuff. It's been tight, and it was tight again tonight. We knew it was going to be tough right until the end."

Richards opened the scoring---and set the tone for the game---just 1:32 into play. His sixth goal of the playoffs was huge because the team that scored first won each of the seven games in this series.

"They did it to us in Game 6 when they got an early goal," explained Richards. "We did that tonight."
