I have loved their relationship throughout the series and it broke my heart when they had to separate. If you haven't yet gotten a copy of books one and two in the Cadence of Grace series, run to your nearest bookstore, online store, library, or somewhere to pick up copies. Meanwhile, Lonnie determines to seal off her heart from Gideon, convinced he is lost to her forever. A dashing Scotsman and Reverend by the name of Toby McKee is paying her court, and she has a mind to move on from the constant pain Gideon is perpetually causing her. And once you do, peace and hope abound.
When God in His mercy Lonnie Sawyer has just reached the point where she can move on. I loved this series and look forward to reading more of Ms. I am on my way to the courthouse at Stuart to have the confirmation and proof to show Lonnie when I get to Fancy Gap, and home. Even with the attention of handsome young preacher Toby McKee. Although his heart was torn he vowed to fight for her with everything that he had.

This is a lovely, heartrending tale of sin's consequences, redemption, and unrequited love, that will keep you flipping those pages well into the night! What is Lonnie to do as she realizes she is in love with two handsome men who will do anything to be with her? But when a woman in Gideon's past comes back into his life, claiming she is his rightful wife, he has no choice but to return to Cassie. My Hope Is Found,the third book in Joanne Bischof's series The Cadence of Grace, did not disappoint. I was not required to write a positive review.
I received an advance paperback copy for free from the author for the purpose of reviewing and promoting. In Though My Heart is Torn, we find out that Gideon has another wife besides Lonnie and he is forced to annul his marriage with Lonnie to be with Cassie. Yearning to allow joy back into her life, Lonnie must put aside the broken pieces of her heart that still love Gideon. Her characters stepped off the page and into my heart as I held my breath over their heartbreaks, disappointed dreams, and ultimate choices, all skillfully woven through with spiritual truths. Toby was loving, patient, Godly and an all around great catch. Gideon is so on edge that he and Toby get into a fist fight. At the end of book 2: Though My Heart is Torn -- I was in a desperate hour.
Gideon's was a painful journey, an honest one that led him deep into grace and redemption. From annoyance with Gideon for not simply writing to Lonnie informing her of his news, to realizing later it might not have done much good, to satisfied that everyone accepted God's timing in their lives. I have enjoyed Gideon and Lonnie's story, anticipating how it will all end. Strengthening her resolve to move on is her growing fondness for the handsome Scotsman, Toby McKee—the young reverend she has come to care for deeply. And I'm talking about the Mark of The Lion books, which I feel were her best.
As in life, there are no guarantees that things will work out as they have planned or as we as readers might want! No matter what happens in a storyline that was penned by Joanne Bischof, you always walk away happy. His proposal of marriage offers a bright future for her and her young son. What sheer torture it has been, not knowing the fate that awaits these two wonderful characters. I have his little cap I carry in my pocket. Bischof, a master at storytelling and twists and turns, honestly had me not knowing until the very end how this story was going to play out! Meanwhile, Lonnie determines to seal off her heart from Gideon, convinced he is lost to her forever. Is Lonnie and their son lost to him forever? I knew I would find tears, pain, and suffering. But, I found I couldn't.
I suggest you begin with Be Still My Soul, and read the entire trilogy in order to get the full picture of where these characters started. Gideon then goes back to Lonnie, who has become interested in the new preacher Toby. My only worry was if this tale of lost love and looming mistakes could possibly come to a satisfying conclusion. As if sensing it, the Judge leaned forward. But will the fight for her heart risk it all over again? Throughout this book we find the characters needing to trust God and rely on him to give them the desires of their heart. A quadrangle, really, when you consider the interloper, Cassie. But his journey back through the Blue Ridge Mountains will hold a trial he never anticipated.
Along with this central theme, we are faced with many other deepening character plots and adventures. He will send the final papers in the mail to Jebediah's address at the post office in Mount Airy. The third book begins with months having passed. So, because Lonnie insisted this was God's law, reluctantly he had to go back to his first wife. Lonnie and Gid's sweet love story continues--holding you in rapt attention to see if he ever does truly become worthy of her gentle heart. But once again her plans are put to the test! In My Hope Is Found, author Joanne Bischof has penned another powerful, emotionally charged novel of a beautiful, unpretentious woman raised in the Appalachians, and the two honorable men who love her.
